Self-sabotage is sneaky. Most of us don’t even realize that we are doing it. Common thoughts that seem so innocent can lead to endless procrastination, spinning in confusion, self-doubt and can stop us right in our tracks. Here are some of the most common self-sabotaging thoughts and what they lead to.

1. “I’m too busy”
Busy fools us into thinking you are leading productive lives.
Busy is a distractor.
Busy is draining.
Busy leads anxiety.
Busy is a hustle energy that cannot be sustained.
This may be triggering, but I want to tell you that everyone is busy. We are all busy living our lives and doing a million and one things. If you want to get out of the trap of telling yourself “I’m too busy”, there are two better words than “I’m too busy”.
Those two words are “yes” and “no”. And understanding why you are saying yes and why you are saying no. Do you like your reason or do you feel pressured to say and do you don’t really want to do?
If choosing a true yes or choosing a true no is a struggle for you, let’s uncover what’s going on in your thinking that is preventing you from making the decisions and choices that you want.
2. “I’m not ready”
When are we ever fully ready to start something new?
Ready is not a feeling. Ready is not all-knowing.
Ready is a destination.
Ready is a choice.
Ready is an action.
You are ready when you decide.
You are ready when you take the first step.
You are more ready than you think.
3. “I don’t know”
“I don’t know” will keep you stuck in indecision and confusion.
This can feel indulgent or helpful in some way as if you are giving yourself time to figure it out.
It’s not helpful. It’s self sabatoging.
What you may really be doing is protecting yourself. Protecting yourself from making a “wrong decision ”
Protecting yourself from taking a risk. Protecting yourself from feeling uncomfortable in something new.
The better thing to do is to ask yourself the questions that you want the answers to. If you did know what would you do?
What would bring you the most growth? What would make you excited and proud?
Step into that energy and see how clarity starts to usher in!
